Beautifull Build

I was reading "Ruarri" and folowed the links to the diesel ducks sites and in the process came across this

this chaps woodworking skills are to die for

It's all very flashy, but it sure ain't boatbuilding.....ignore tradition at your peril!

Where to start? Acorn nuts!!! Lot's of um, my god! Little boxes attached to the boat with little fiddly bits. No sea rails on bunks or counters, no handholds, everything built too light, brass....everywhere! A nicely varnished ladder with no sign of non-slip, and some more brass to bark your shins on!

Oh the seatbelt is a fine touch, but craning my neck sideways to see anything on the plotter? Forget it.

Perhaps he'll only go voyaging on some very small lake....

All I can think of is the work he will have keeping it looking nice.
Irrespective of whether or not there is sound building practice there you have to admire the work he has put in.
