1987 29' Donzi

This is a project that I'm concedering takeing on. Its a bare hull, with the cap and floor taken out. This is a project where I will turn the boat into a Center console. Im planning on adding a floor, building the gunnels, transom, and front deck. How much am I looking at spending on this project. And how well will this boat ride. Just looking for opinions, and others point of view.
thanks
here are some pics:

You can build a new boat cheaper.

Well if i was to build up this boat how would i build up the gunnels around the side and front deck? what materials would i use? And if i use plywood w/ glass would that be to heavy? Just looking for advice? Ive seen some f28 center console donzi boats but the cap on them looks to elaborate to replicate.

Donzi's are light performance boats. That hull is trashed. Its shape is all distorted. There are used boats in good condition ready to go. You may start by reading some books on boatbuilding and repair. However, since it is you first project, figure on doing thing twice or more before getting them right. If you take it as a learning tool and time and money are not an object, it could be satisfying.

Great project. If your set on a centre console you need to make the sides stronger. I would suggest nida core for the sides and make side bulkheads out of the same material. you can buy 1side finished nida core panels for finishing the inside. side supports should be min.4"
