I need details on design parameters on long tail boat propelsion and installation
what are the pros and cons of Long tail boats

There are other threads on this forum that will provide additional information - search for "long tail" and you should find them.

My experience (I was just there yesterday) involved long-tails with gasoline-powered, four-cylinder automotive engines (guessing at 1.2-1.5 ltr displacement) which did not have mufflers, but were using turbo-chargers, which did quiet them.

Propellers were, universally, large (24"+ diameter) 2-blade.

Are you planning on building some?

There are some applications with more modest engines.
