Hey everybody. I've been using fiberglass for years for boat repairs and some molding but now have a problem I can't seem to solve. What I need is a clear epoxy that will remain glossy when removed from a mold. It remains glossy where it dries exposed to air but not where it is in contact with the mold. I've used mainly west system thus far but have found some crystal clear epoxies but I'm not sure if they will do the job. West systems special hardner claims to dry glossy and clear but has anyone ever molder with it? Thnx for any words of wisdom...

Can I also show off my 1969 20ft Bertram center console I restored? :D

No never with West, but have made small parts with RAKA epoxies. Still have to wax just like polyesters. Sory not a big fan of West systems

Maybe if you could line the mold with peel-ply you'd get the surface you want. Never tried it though...
