I have taken out the windows from my 1970 Ranger 26. These are Aluminum extrusions, glass and rubber gaskets. The rubber is dry and the windows leak. I am planning on replacing these with 1/4 " lexan and simply bolting these to the sides of the cabin trunk with a polysulfide calk as the "gasket". It seems that a few builders ,such as J Boat, employ this method. Is there a reason I should not do this? If not, is my approach a good one in terms of calk and lexan?
Thank you.
