Help please on definitions of hull design lines

Hey thanks for reading this. I am doing a project at school and i need to investigate hull design lines as part of my research report. Basically, i need information relating to buttock lines, water lines and station lines. I need definitions and advantages/ disadvantages to relate to my project. Please help me with any information you can offer and/or other sources that may be of use.
