hi all, not another transom question you say, well....Not really, sorta, but...
I have a 14 ft fibreglass runabout and the bottom bung on the transom, right at the apex of the v, has obviously been run aground and damaged. This has caused the bung to move and lose the seal around the scews and then start to rot.
Some one has repaired it before and cut through the glass and I now have a 1" high by 2.5" wide hole in the bottom of the v, cut back to good wood. The rest of the transom is fine, and I would like to avoid replacing the whole lot if possible. I cant get to the inside without cutting through the floor, but can do that if necessary.
I thought about epoxying a tapered ply plug and glassing it in, or....
Any thoughts appreciated
Cheers
Jason
