'At's no skiff - that's a minimalist trimaran. :)

CBTF super "skiff" with buoyancy pods-very cool!

i might be wrong here but dont "bouancy pods" make it a trimaran,
So if its a tri, why not just make the "boyancy pods" bigger and lose the lead?

that's not a forward rudder. it's a foil. might be used becuase the design incorporates a canting keel.
Canting keel on a skiff ?!?

Bethwaite has designed a much smaller LAS for use in the 2008 Paralympics. If the purests and language police don't make him change the name.
This could be a larger version of that. It's also possible that this boat relies on another form of movable ballast besides a canting keel or in addition to it. The pods seem to me to be designed to have incidental contact with waves as opposed to being used as an ama. Great debate on the UK Moth site about when buoyancy pods on the outboard edge of the wings constitute making the boat a multihull. The new M4 monofoiler(a Moth derivative) and the aeroSKIFF design use buoyancy pods in the same place to make the boat easier to sail- when sailing the pods don't touch the water.
I think it's a most interesting boat-wish I knew the whole story..

See the link below for much more detail on this boat. It is NOT CBTF since the keel doesn't cant; it uses ON DECK MOVABLE BALLAST(see thread under "Sailboats" on this subject-a proposed 17 footer)
Pretty damn exciting!
