Okay y'all have fun poking at my plans.
This is the daggerboard idea for my 14 meter catamaran. One of the boards is already stripped in 15 mm douglas fir with 2 layers of 10 oz uni running across the planking on the inside. The outside sheathing and foam edges have not been added. At present it weights 74 lbs.
Thinking that this is overbuilt. Would 10 mm planking with 1 layer of 10 oz uni on each side be strong enough for a cruising boat?
The cat has a 6500 kg displacement. The boards stick out 150 cm when fully down.
Thanks for all coments.
