boat design software

Greetings all
I am a civil engineering student involved wit a concrete canoe club on campus. and was wondering what software would be best to design a canoe and test the possible stresses and strains on a design.

For the analysis You will need access to a FEA package.
We use one called Strand which is very good. See what your department has.

For the design you can probably download a free canoe model. Look at the student edition of Maxsurf perhaps. Or draw one using your departments adopted CAD software.
