I use Rhino/Flamingo for boat designing.
Is there any way to make a total transparent background when rendering ?

The big question here is - what's on the other side of a transparent background?
You could try just having a background image...

I use to copy the rendered images into Photoshop. Then i do not want any background at all. Now i have the problem that a squared "solid" background follows the image and covers other images on the same "sheet".

With a solid background you should be able to select it with the magic wand tool in photoshop and make it transparent there.

Go into Flamingo "environment" settings dialogue box.
put a tick in the "alpha channel" box.
now once you have rendered the image you can select he background in photoshop using the alpha channel.
look under flamingo and/or photoshop help for more info on exactly how to do it. (its well worth the five minutes it takes to learn about using alpha channel).
Good luck,

make sure to save the rendering as a tiff, though, to use the alpha channel.
Photoshop will do magic on your rederings.
