Distance Learning vs. Classroom Learning

Hi,

I've decided to attend school for yacht design, but can't decide between a distance learning course (Westlawn, YDS) and an on-site program (The Landing School). I'm sure this is a decision everyone who attends any of these schools had to make at one point. Any opinions on whether a distance learning course is an ample substitute for a real classroom experience? -Kip

Distance learning is only if you can't possibly do classroom - the informal interaction in the class room, and even in the dining room, is very valuable.

Also, go by Stevens Institute, at least to see the tow tank.

My age will show. Field trips are fantastic for later networking after course completion.
