With 65 percent of americans over the age of twenty being overweight or obese, should I be expecting the average person to weigh 250lbs?

We fully restored a 1971 Sidewinder jet boat and now the back end of the boat sits too low in the water with water rushing in the wet exhaust pipes! We are going to have to readjust the balance & weight of our boat. In order to adjust the weight of the boat, we're going to have to ADD weight to our boat to the bow of the boat to raise the stern. We were not aware that balance and weight of the boat including passengers played such an important role, but we know now!!!
I would say the average weight of Americans is 200 pounds these days!!!! Beware of "MAN OVER BOARD"!!!!!

As for boats, I think you want to take into consideration numbers that are above the average, just in case.

Arrr...amerrrricans arrrr fat...or tend to be. But still, I've found that people who own boats that are nice"ish" tend to not be huge. Still, use the average weight of 180 lbs.

I think the word, AVERAGE, would include everybody from a infant to overweight adult, male and female. That is my version of average.

Ah. Fine. Try 160 lbs. Most infants do not SCUBA dive.
