Hello...
Tooths - foots and gooses - when I was a kid and did not have a proper boat and had crashed all my model aeroplanes and was totally bored with life...
I got myself one of those plastic Canadian Gooses - chopped off its head - sealed it up with ply and epoxy and a brass tube in a tube that pivoted the head with the rudder (I only had two channels) that went to a pick up under the 'bird' and thru a windshield wiper pump which spit water out the bill....
She (It) was powered with an old electric car motor - I used a stiff spring as a universal to the shaft and a Kort like rudder - epoxied a weighted keel to it - went to the pond and chased geese or gooses but the motor noise or the fact that it was plastic never allowed me to get close enough for some squirt hits - gooses are smart...
Are kids who do the above smart - or just super bored.... :)
Needless to say it (She) led to me meeting a curious other kid at the pond who had a real Parker 505 at home that needed some work and that was that...
The photo below reminded me of this - I laughed - I cried for times gone by... :)
See http://www.watergames.com/cigno.html - yeah I know its a swan...
Maybe I will order one - put some cleats on it and keep it at the marina - peddle down Jericho beach with a cooler of coolies - 'heh - how you doing'...
