So here I am again...wondering what in the world to do.
Hey all, I need some help. I am in the process of re-building my bassboat, and would like to re-paint it. I am not concerned with the prep and what it will take to get the boat ready for the paint, rather I am highly confused as to which materials I am going to need for the job of actual finish coat.
It starts with the primer actually...which brands are best to use, and what kind should I use?? I am totally in the dark about technilogical marine paint terminology! I am just a "new residential painter" for crying out loud! So I need a good bonding sealing primer that will adhere to the previous paint job.
Next I want to do the boat again in metalflake. I want black metalflake on the boat, and of course with a good gelcoat over the top. I would also like to paint my trailor matching as well. I am willing to, like I said, do all prep work and anything that I need to do in order to prepare the boat for it's first shot of paint. I have a guy that will shoot the boat and help me with it, but he also does not know anything about marine paint.
Remember, I'm not looking for the best paint job in the world, I just want to be happy and have a "somewhat" pleasant feeling in the morning when I look out at my newly painted boat. I just need help on what materials I am going to need, and which brands are best to use. Can someone please help me with this information?
