View Full Version : rhinomarine Cp question

Having a bit of difficulty getting rhinomarine to produce a prismatic coefficient. I have sections set up for the model, so thats not it. The hull is lofted surfaces, as in a hard chined sailboat hull. I did 'join' them, but that doesn't seem to make a difference.

I don't use Rhino marine but you may want to cross-check the answer. You need the following bits of information....

The immersed midship section area (Am)
The waterline length (L)
The immersed hull volume (V)

Cp = V / ( Am*L )

the Cp SHOULD be less than 1. in the case of a simple cuboid barge it will be 1.

You can find all the data required from the geometry.
