CAD software packages (please help me)

Hi, I'm currently working on a project for my university course (Yacht and Power Craft Design). The project is concentrated at CAD software systems, and peoples opinions on there uses and influences in the Marine industry. Also as part of the project I'm required to make a detailed report to be displayed as a buyers guide to these CAD systems, so every ones views will be regarded highly as its your opinions that will really count for me. Being but a student any information you feel you may wish to voice would be incredibly useful.
