New and Loving it!

Found the site a few days ago and posted an epoxy or paint question in wooden boat building section. Great advice coming through.

I am finishing up an 8' rowing dingy as the first boat I have ever built. Easy enough I guess. Only one form right in the middle. It looks like a boat so I must be on the right track.

Soon, I will be looking for a second project to begin through all of my hard earned cash at. It was need to be simple to build and have a cuddy for weekending on. I would like it to NOT need forms as they seem to make things hard on a total newbie like myself. Lake and dammed river basins mostly.

Oh, the name for my boat will be Walk On Water, or WOW for short, as in, "WOW, look honey. It didn't leak!!!!"

Welcome to BoatDesign! So glad you've found the useful feedback you sought. As it was in my case, many of us seem to hit on this site whilst looking for new learning, guidance or help with a boating, boat design or boat building issue. This kind of knowledge "from the trenches" (or, perhaps, from the open seas?) I've found to be a most valuable complement to textbooks, magazines and other sources.

Here's a link to an article you might get a kick out of, given your choice and explanation of your boat's name - although you might not want your wife to see it!
