Which outdrive?

Hello all, we have a reinell 17.5 foot boat (1974) and were looking for info on which model of outdrive was originally fitted to this type of boat?
what were the popular outdrives in the usa back then?
And what would be the modern equivalent be ( we want to diesel power this boat for wake boarding) and also how much HP will we need?
