floodable length calculations

    How to do the floodable length calculations and please suggest a book for reference

    Check out any decent text book like Basic Ship Theory or Principals of Naval Architecture.

    Can we do this without getting into math?

    I was thinking of just taking the stripped out boat to the lake, filling it with rocks until it begins to sink and then weighing the rocks! :D
