I'm looking for an old marine diesel to rebuild for a Teb Brewer designed Grand Banks 33 out of wood (20100 lbs) that I'm about to start lofting. I have this thing about being able to crank-start them. I have been offered an air-cooled Petter engine of type PJ4 that is rated at 45Bhp @ 2000 rpm but have been unable to find much info on these engines on the web except that they were manufactured between 1962 - 1985. Does anybody know their reputation? What are its pro's and con's and the availability of spares?
Thanks Folk
