Can someone direct me to design theories and research on how to design planning strakes.
The boat will be LOA11m BOA2.7 23 degree 6.5 tonne

Not sure about the info you're after, but 6.5 tonne seems kinda heavy for an 11m race boat to me.... :?:

Yes we are quite heavy but it has specialised application. 1000kg personnel and equipment, 900 L fuel, to International Classification for 40 kts at sea state 4. Performance prediction shows excellent performance despite appearance of high load. 20kts 2300rpm, 30-2420rpm, 40-2740rpm, 45-2900, powered by twin 500 hp diesel onto jet.
There will be a central Ski Strake starting at 50 mm wide at the bow, to enable a protective plate to be attached to the keel. My present thought is to allow this to widen so that it is 125 at transom. However the 50 mm plate aluminium would run the full length.
It is the science behind the other strakes that I am inteerested in.

There was a paper on strakes given at the Chesapeake section of SNAME a couple of years ago.
