Anchorlift Windlass

Anyone had experience good or bad with these?

Anchorlift Windlasses (http://www.anchorlift.com/Windlasses.html)

I was looking at these Mako M1512's (http://www.anchorlift.com/windlasses/windlasses-55-80_foot_boats.html) for my boat and the usd to aud is looking mighty fine at the moment and was wondering if it was worth the punt getting one.

They have a few for sale on eBay at the moment HERE (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Anchor-lift-Windlass-Mako-1500-vertical-capstan-pipe_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem4a9ac51334QQitemZ320424186676QQptZBoatQ5fPartsQ5fAccessoriesQ5fGear?amp;mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2Febaymotors%2FAnchor-lift-Windlass-Mako-1500-vertical-capstan-pipe_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem4a9ac51334QQitemZ320424186676QQptZBoatQ5fPartsQ5fAccessoriesQ5fGear&toolid=10001).

The comparison in a Muir is an Atlantic 4000 capstan (http://www.windlass-anchor.com/atlantic-4000-capstan.html) and as you can see there is a bit of a difference in price.

Maxwell are seemingly expensive in comparison as well here is the comparable one Liberty 2500 (http://www.defender.com/product.jsp?path=-1|10391|29596|321926|649413&id=92123)

Any comments appreciated

I bought an Anchorlift dolphin for my 33ft cutter but I have not used it yet, I can vouch for the build quality and materials. All stainless is 316, finishing is very good and the electronics seem robust.

The only negative side I can think of is that there is no way to manually haul the anchor using the windlass/handle without removing the motor, setting the anchor manually is easy though.

Thanks for that

Damn, I just sent them a lengthy email before reading this post so haven't included this question, thanks, I shall resend and ask them about it
