I already have a 440 Chrysler (330hp, 480tq) ready to go. Is there any reason why I should swap that motor for a GM 6.2 NA engine? It has half the power of my 440, and I'd like to get this 5500 lb boat on plane LOL. Thanks for any advice!

How about an Audi twin turbo V12 diesel with more than double the torque of the 440Chrysler, and about 400KW between 3 and 5000rpm:D:D:D there is an image in the gallery

No, there isn't any reason you need to change out your 440. You'll be very pleased with the performance of a healthy 440 in your boat, even if it's 5,500 pounds.

Thanks for reinforcing my thought PAR! She's staying in then.

Sorry ya shiela, but I only power with US iron in my boats!

Add a pair of Magnum heads, and then you are talking.

Use 452 or 906 castings for the heads to get the bigger intake ports. Better yet will be the angle plug Edelbrock aluminum "Performer" heads. The iron castings will be a better choice if you're not making too much power.

How about a Perkins 6-354t? I hear they're great engines, but parts are expensive to come by?

I thought you wanted American iron!

PS it's hard to take a motor seriously that is rated in KW :)
