This is an example of one of the things I'm so forever ranting about.

See the Midlands movie. It is like this with everything in SA. Note the guy's house...

This site is about boats. I saw a river but no boats. Are you saying that all the land would be better conglomerated under a few white owners so it produces properly?

The boats were vandalised or stolen and being stupid, probably destroyed because they had no lake to use them on and no fuel or understanding how to use it...:D:D:D or at least that seems what Fanie is building up to...

Is there any way out of there for you? I remember clearly in Mass's other deleted post some of pictures and things surrounding you that you had posted. That was a good informative thread and I could kick Mass's ass for having it deleted. But back on topic whats your options, clearly living there don't appear safe at all. Or are you like me and just trying to figure out how to get by and stay below the radar so to speak and make a living. I mean people here hate it also if you are having any kind of success in life and also resent another person having something they don't have. Irresponsible people who throw all their money in gambling machines and have nothing to show for there work, resents coworkers who life right and save and manage to have a nice car. There is no way to truly really understand other people, and the older I get the more i realize it. Hopefully you can avoid any hostility against you.

Bamby, I did not delete. That cannot be done except by Jeff or instructions from "Above"... The story I got was that a bunch of USA members threatened to leave "boatdesign" if the thread stayed... (A prime demonstration that there is no honour of the "freedom of speech and expression" in USA)... The thread was claimed to be UnAmerican or something as stupid - I can only presume they were in full denial as to the economic crisis... I lost a lot of useful links and resources... I had nothing to do with its removal, except a couple of posters got very nasty and defensive about how "great and good USA was" and then the thread was gone...

Are you saying that all the land would be better conglomerated under a few white owners so it produces properly?
This should be called the "I am the victim of society thread"
No, actually it should be called 'the **** other countries cause' when they force a working government to hand over to a disfunctional one, and then when the **** hits the fan the guilty kindly disappear off the scene.

The part you chose to overlook was where the one philamon said explicitly that SA is going the same way Zim is going.

As for your comment about the victim of society crap, I have never been hijack or shot (so far), my wife hasn't been raped and we haven't had the experiences others had to make through. I've had some things stolen from me but this is hardly what I'm on about.

Every time this gov decides to do something stupid we feel it in our pockets. You want to know what this is to do with boating - everything for me. If I buy a boat for R180 000 then it is something I can do. But tbecause we have disfunctional idiots that bugger the R up the same boat would cost me R1 800 000. You try paying ten times the price for one item and see if you like it.

The other frustration is not just because of our poor currency, the problem is the conditions forced on us to operate under. The figgin ANC has build these squatter camps around us to outvote us in elections, now we have these hordes that think it's their right to take from us what they can, and the gov doesn't do anything about it because they think the tax they get is great money each time you replace your belongings. The few that has something has to go to extremes to protect the little they have and the gov smiles ever wider, even more tax money for them. Why do you think Manie lives in a security complex ?

I have to get an armed person to sit shotgun for me if I want to work outside on my boating stuff. Apart from this little frustration we have a safety organization that just takes your money, make new laws as they go along without consideration for the problems they create in their wake. They don't offer any service to the one that does the paying and one doesn't get any solutions from them either.

There are not less boating related accidents, but many now just wants to get rid of their boats. Not worth it. For me off late it was simply buying new equipment that may be useless before even using it and I have to buy it over again. We were refused to go on the water because the in control persons wants to charter you to make money off'n you, you have to buy items from certain manufacturers only or your rig is not surveyed... you get my drift ?

Now since you wanted to know if the white farmers would be better to have, I don't know man, lets consider killing more than 2500 farmers in the UK. Here, it hasn't stopped either. The philamons think if they kill the whites they will get the property, because that is what they were promissed before the elections. None of the hundreds of farms given to philamons (not sold) works, so we are now importers of food.

If you really want to know what is going on in SA, and I told Rick W the same, visit here and talk to the people so you can see what is really really the issues. Most sound too far fetched to believe if you don't see it first hand. We are in a recession (and have been for the last 15 years) for a very different reason you are in on the moment.

Now it is very easy for you guys to sit behind you pc and say leave there. It is an option, I can make a life anywhere in the world. It will however mean starting over from scratch, leave everyone behind you know, and learn to deal with the new set of frustrations the other country have. Yes, they all have their **** spots.

I knew what the 'old' SA was like. We were on the foreground with many things, for one, SA's are good boat builders - look at Wynand for one, didn't want to say it because his head is probably going to swell up now ;) but there are so many field in which South Africans excell. Code hopping was done by a South African (I know the bloke) and he sold to Microchip. We were on the foreground with radioactive research... many more - and it all is going down the drain - all for the wrong reasons. While the rest of the world advances we are being forced back into time.

As for being a victim, I don't think so. My frustrations however are very real, you ask anyone else in SA.

Now if you want to do something to help, you can either move here since our sensible resources are schrinking, and we need the votes, or you can phone your political party and request your gov to point a few fingers here.

We need your support !!

Our corrupt power supply co has just doubled our power's price (they have also applied for a further increase said 40 to 60%).

I phoned for prices of resin today, it is up by quite a bit. This means my budget is buggered up again. Next fuel will go up and it will change again.

I believe in private property, and agree with you that giving it away to people that never did anything is not a good thing. To start with, they don't have the skills to run a business of any kind. The problem is quite complex. I don't have any simple answer to it. What is " Zim and Solamia"?

Fanie
10-07-2009, 06:01 PM
It must be very humiliating and personally degrading for a person to fill a post that they cannot handle the responsibility and does not have the knowledge to do the work, yet the philamons are being forced into positions like this.

It is not about if the person is any colour, it is about if he can actually do the job. Last time I visited Manie their security guard spoke Afrikaans to me, and quite well at that. I was going to stay and chat with him instead, but then I did say I would visit Manie :D

Zim is Zimbabwe, the place where the unpatriotic whites left because they couldn't handle the abuse.

Somalia is the pirate mecca. Piracy has not cought on in SA yet, like in they don't attack ships to loot them. They will however loot a ship or boat if they can get to it.

Something here may work for you.......

How do you like this security system?
This is a true story of a garage owner in the Southwest.
He was sick & tired of thugs breaking into his garage shop to steal tools etc.
He came up with this idea… He would professionally have cut & trimmed a large fluffy dog to appear as a "Lion". Then he put the word out that he had a new "Mexican Lion" at the shop that would attack anyone who tried to break in or climb his fence.
The would-be thieves saw the "Lion" from a distance and fled the scene.
This worked each and every time -- they were convinced it was a REAL Lion!

THE ANT AND THE GRASSHOPPER

This one is a little different...

Two Different Versions! .................

Two Different Morals!

OLD VERSION: The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.

Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed.

The grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Be responsible for yourself!

MODERN VERSION:

The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.

Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while others are cold and starving.

CBS, NBC , PBS, CNN, and ABC show up to provide pictures of the shivering grasshopper next to a

video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food. America is stunned by the sharp contrast.

How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?

Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper and everybody cries when they sing,

'It's Not Easy Being Green.'

Acorn stages a demonstration in front of the ant's house

where the news stations film the group singing, 'We shall overcome.'

Rev. Jeremiah Wright then has the group kneel down to pray to God for the grasshopper's sake.

Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid exclaim in an interview with Larry King that the ant has gotten rich off the back

of the grasshopper, and both call for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his fair share.

Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity & Anti-Grasshopper Act retroactive to the beginning of the summer.

The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the Government Green Czar.

The story ends as we see the grasshopper finishing up the last bits of the ants food while the government house

he is in, which just happens to be the ant's old house, crumbles around him because he doesn't maintain it.

The ant has disappeared in the snow.

The grasshopper is found dead in a drug related incident

and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders

who terrorize the once peaceful neighborhood.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Be careful how you vote in 2010.

It always seems to be that redistribution of stuff and wealth schemes run into problems when they run out of other peoples stuff and wealth. Seems those governments are never happy until everyone is equally miserable, having equal parts of nothing. We are attempting the same thing here in the U.S. but fortunately the folks who have worked for their stuff are saying, "no way, I worked for it, it's mine, work for your own". See, once you run out of stuff to steal from folks, and the shortages kick in, the only way to make the "entitlement" class happy is to make sure no one has more stuff than their equally miserable neighbor, except of course for the governing class, they're special. My leftie friends are all upset because their center and righty middle class friends are looking at Washington and saying, "oh no, what did I do", and can't wait for the next election to toss the clowns they elected last time. BHO is going to have an even tougher time in his last two years with his agenda when the middle class insists on keeping their earned wealth and send home the lefties who are trying to steal it. As far as South Africa and Zimbawe, it is a shame how the two most vibrant economies of Africa have been destroyed by their version of "Hope and Change". Soon there will be a shortage of sand in the Kalihari.

As far as South Africa and Zimbawe, it is a shame how the two most vibrant economies of Africa have been destroyed

i dont want to start a pissing contest here with my fellow saffas but you cannot compare saffa to zim, you actually cannot even put them in the same sentence

South Africa warts and all is still not the worst place on earth by far, there are many other countries that is a lot worse than us. Yes we do have our problems and yes we also have problems with our politicians, property prices have fallen and the economy is terrible, show me where it is not. I regularly read about crime and and and, the irony is that if you take most articles written on crime - economies - labour - etc. you can take the countries name out of that article and substitute with 90% of other countries in the world and the article will still hold true, regardsless of which countries name was used.

South Africa is also a victim of the global crunch, same problems different place. Our country has a new young goverment that has made mistakes and is trying to please all the people all the time, cant be done. However South Africa still has plenty opportunities and still has a lot going for it. We do have high crime areas, who doesn't. We do have unemployment, folks with high expectations, the disgruntled WHO DOESN'T

What is going to put the brakes on us, is the global crunch, growth will be slow and like many countries the crunch came at a bad time. Folks are blaming the indigenous people, goverment, crime and and and, where the real problem is the poor economy.

Now where the **** really is going to hit the fan is to get the people to adapt and change to a new world order, things will never be the same again, learn to adapt or rot away in self pity. Unemployment is not going to go away, the big machine has grinded to a halt, and if some of it runs again it will never have the output again that it had.

All in all South Africa is still ok and will be for a long time to come, we just have to adapt. And so will you, regardsless in which country you live. Many many of my friends have imigrated over the past 15 years, more so over the past 8 years, UK - USA - OZ - NZ - Canada - Europe - All over South America, and when we correspond it it absolutely crazy to hear how bad it is for some of them. 99% of the folks that emigrated had money or were educated, many of them are so bad off now that they are poor. I am the first one to admit that prior to Jan 2008 i often thought what am i doing in Saffa with my children, must be crazy. Well how has the wheel of misfortune turned for the globe as a whole - everybody is in ****.

So back to the point - South Africa is ok, our neighbour Zimbabwe is gone. If you ever wanted to do business in South Africa the opportunities are probably as good as it gets anywhere else in the world. Make the right choices - dont be in a hurry - and get advice from someone who knows.

My work and my business gets me around large parts of the country EVERYDAY - i travel between 100 and 500 kilometres A DAY (that is one hundred and five hundred A DAY) moving between the construction sites big and small, i see corporate customers and the small builders, the whole bang shoot I GET OUT

Please believe me, dont read all the sensationalistic crap that the media punts out, always remember that the media focuses on bad news anywhere in the world.

And i still say, go where the buck is, go there where you can make good money with your skills, blind faith in the motherland - fatherland and all the crap that the politicians and churches dish out IS NONSENCE

But when you find this place where you can scratch out a living - adapt
When in Rome do as the Romans do

South Africa is changing - big adaptions coming
Note : change the word "South Africa" with USA - UK - OZ - NZ - Southern hemiphere - what ever takes your fancy - the sentence is still true

Aneeeeeewaaaaay South Africa is not so bad after all

What is a philamon?

Fanie
10-09-2009, 10:10 AM
Well Manie, what can I say other than consider the facts.

The 'new gov you refer to is 15 years young. In another 15 years they will be only 30 years young. If you cannot learn out of your mistakes in the first few years say 5 years then you can assume the trend has been set. The way it is going now is the way it is going to go.

You just forget how it was before, where you could pick up a phone and get service. Please indicate which service we have left that actually works.

You cannot get hold of the city council if they screwed your account up. I had to go as far as see their attorney to only get to talk to someone on the phone.

The traffic police are not there to assist motorists, they are solely in the service of gov to make money by issuing fines and to put up speed camera's. Lets face it, you can drive any way you want, as long as you don't speed.

The city counsel hire private contractors to cut power of non payers, since they get paid per connection, philamon also disconnects a couple of other's power, and when they complain they simply charges again for the reconnection. They think it is wonderful, they get paid so much more.

Also it seems they cannot read, because they start top left and switch every single connection off and on again until they reach the number they must switch off. To you this may be nothing, you see the power goes off and on again, but what about us that works with machines etc. You scrap the material, break tools and lots of time goes to waste.

My PC guy had their area's power switched without the neutral, so you get 380V instead of 230V. Just between the few neighbors he knew there they had R180 000 damages, equipment got smoked. No claim fro the power co, you get your own insurance. They were not the only ones, see in the jokes thread the stuff that guy wrote on their wall.

How many buildings fell in so far since only black contractors get the jobs ? I heard recently a bridge also fell. Who pays ?

Two nights ago 1.2 billion stolen by gov officials for black housing, you saw the news didn't you ?

You yourself hire equipment out. Pretty soon a black contractor is going to replace you. Then how will you build the boat.

I fish lures, there simply isn't enough dams left in SA to fish that is within reasonable distance. Raw sewage and chemicals gets pumped into public waters. And you wonder why so many get cholera ? Even the jet fuel spilled into one of the dams a while back just got waved. All allowed under black gov officials who say 'no but'.

We have bigger water problems than what most of you Safricans realize. When your tap water is white from the chlorine it is to kill the smell and disguise the other rubbish in it. I don't drink the tap water, it stinks and it makes me sick.

I mentioned the farmers killed, us importing food now instead of exporting. It is the same Manie, as you now having to pay for the equipment you hire out instead of getting any money for it. What will that do to your boating project.

I mentioned the increase in power tariff. Our power tariff has just doubled. Pretty soon we will have the most expensive power in the world. Work out 3 x 60% on what you pay now for it. Think it's going to stay there ?

A Blou Bal I mean Blou Bul steak was R15 a while ago. The current R120 should grab you by the nuts... I went with the old witch a few days ago to get groceries. R 1000. It wasn't much. The wife says it's up every time she goes and she's not lying, I'm trying to budget for the boat here. It's like that with everything, the prices just goes up and up and up.

So what. Well isn't that what causes inflation ? Never stopping pricing ? How's Zim doing with their inflation rate. The inflation is not stopped by the few they think that should take the knock like the home loan co's, it works only temporary like when Mugabe simply prints more money, relief is short lived and when reality sets in it is far worse.

SA did the same by lowering the edu standards. It worked for a short while, more little philamons passed, but now there is a new set of problems. We now have qualified people with no knowledge who should not be qualified at all. The demand big salaries, co perks you name it but cannot produce on a skill level. There goes your inflation again.

Since you don't work in the industry you may not notice it, I see it every day. The time alone dealing with uneducated people and the faults they make must be costing this country billions. They cannot read drawings, they don't know the difference between materials. And sadly, it's whites as well. They also got educated under the same low standards.

So don't say our gov is not like Zim's, they do the same stupid things.

When last have you heard a news bulletin where corruption was not an issue ? Almost every news cast there is a new scheme brought up, the amounts of money is scary, and who pays.

We have the most expensive phone services in the world. Per second billing. Why do we have internet caps and you pay per Mb usage ? There's no consumables being used. Do you know the gov attempted to have us pay per e-mail sent ? They did.

We pay more for our fuel, one reason is the fines SASOL pays for their corrupt under the carpet deals. You pay for that.

Our roads are poorly maintained. You pay for road maintenance but when you lose a wheel in a pot hole it's your problem. Instead of streamlining our roads so people can get to work and back effectively they put up more speeds humps and more traffic jams I mean traffic circles. Remember this next time you replace shocks or buy a new car. It is not only the toi toing philamons that hops, the cars do too and so the rand follows.

The names of streets and towns, some internationally recognized gets changed to some philamon nobody knows who he was's name. Try Jan Smuts vs Oliver Tambo. Who the fcuk is oliver. Since when is Oliver a philamon name in any case. How much do you think these changes is costing ? They are already planning that the registration plates must change AGAIN.

The philamons that dispose the garbage in the trucks have a **** job, well I think so. Why don't they pay them a decent friggin salary. The **** in the council office paying himself R80 000pm does not even pitch for work. Who checks this out. It was on Carte Balanche.

Why can you buy boats for next to nothing ? The boat users just gotten ****** up by these new rules and regulation and despite that there are more accidents now than before. Guess why.

No seriously Manie, there are so many things wrong in SA it's not even funny. I can also tell you that before this '15 year young new gov' of yours 99% of these problems were non existent.

The next thing you are going to tell me is how privileged I am. Let me put that right for you before you get there.

It is the philamons that are the privileged ones. All these wonderful things they have, the failing power, houses, hospitals streets and whatever modern society has to offer (and could I add high paying official posts for no work) is the doing of the currently disadvantaged - the whites.

Our legal system is corrupt, there is even two sets of laws, one for the so called advantaged (whites) and one for the disadvantaged. It just means you cannot be ignorant about illegal doings and say you didn't know, but they don't have to know.

So Manie, with the current state of the R vs other currencies, are you living better now than 15 years ago, or has it been a steady downhill ?

You remember the bird that got crapped on. When you're happy in a pile of **** keep your mouth shat was the moral of that story.

This current gov CAN change the face of SA around, but they want to figure it out for themselves and it may take a couple of hundred years to do so. If you have problems you get help. Why doesn't these idiots get help ?

There's no shame in asking advice, but there a lot of embarrassment when there is failure.

I don't have anything against a philamon in any post, but if he cannot or will not do his job or at at the expense of others THEN I get hairy about things.

Fanie

Could it be that our standards and morral values are failing ? It seems this constant bombardment of interracial adverts on tv is working.

The day your doughter rocks up at home with a philamon retard servicing her, then you must know it wasn't her fault. You must think long and hard on this one boet, the times are on us. I see them when we eat out with our friends. To me it's a scary thought, maybe it's nothing to you guys.

You must also remember that SA is in a resession for different reasons than other countries. It doesn't help to say oh well, they are in the ****, we are in the **** so it's ok - because it isn't. If you poorly manage your business and everyone in your household takes what they want then I can assure you pretty soon you will have big problems. That is the kind of problems we have here. Corruption is cancer in a business.

It doesn't stop there either. Because of the problems here (and remember no one wants to deal with corruption for obvious reasons) we find that many overseas co's won't do business with us.

Which part of it did you say wasn't so bad again Manie ?

Look, it's not about the colour here, it's about people with no insight into what they are doing.

Contrary to what most of you think I'm not a racist. I feel very sorry for these poor people that does not have the abilities they should have to make a decent living.

Tonight on the news -
Sowetan's attacked three trouble making yoofs, one killed, one serious and one fled, and for a change the rest of South Africa shouted 'VIVA'

Now listen to this, the action got condemned and a police investigation is going to be held against those taking the law in their own hands. No, not against the trouble makers, against the people that live there.

Now how ****** up can you get. Instead of the police (which btw is figgin useless) supporting the community in their defence, they are now supporting the criminals by making the community the criminals.

A taxi in nigeria had an accident and 11 killed... WTF, nigerian accident on SA tv ? But the people getting murdered here daily doesn't make the news.

Ok Manie, I'll tell you what. If you can sort out only ONE issue for me then I will stop complaining about everything here.

I have nightly visitors. The climb over the wall here to see if they can break into the house. This has been going on for quite a while now, months. The police is not interested in sorting this out, right, I did my part trying to get them to do their work and they are really not interested.

So every time the alarm warns me there is a philamon in the yard you come and sort them out. If you can get them to stay away here, then I'm done complaining. I can't work at night, and I can't sleep the rest of it either.

We cannot really go anywhere, I'm not looking foreward to coming back to an emptied out house. There is also a big risk leaving the wife alone here. I'm sure you get the situation.

Sunday night we had friends over. While they were here philamon came into the yard and was just waiting for the people to leave to make their move. Fortunately the wife saw the zone blink indicating movement.

So, how about it ? Sort this one situation out then I can also bitch when others are unhappy with situations pushed down their throats :(

Our corrupt power supply co announced a further 3 x 45% increases. It has just doubled after holding the whole country hostage for their tarrif increase, costing the industry billions... and the f gov pays them.

So if you calculate this - where you paid R1000 for power it is nou about R2000. After the 3 x 45% increases we will be paying > R6000pm.

I have solar panels on the roof already. To run the workshop is going to require quite a bit more...

People here are sick of the setup, I almost get calls daily to ask for a replacement, they want to rid themselves of the abuse and inconsistent service. Have two power generators as well, but that's not the idea...

The philamon living next to me drives a new car every three months, but doesn't maintain his pool. It is a mosquito breeding utopia, and very unpleasant for us. The cresh behind him filed a complaint with the council, aparently as did other residents.

He had to sign my building plans, but told me to bugger off, if the council wanted him to sign anything they can come to him themselves. He thinks it was me that files the complaint about his pool.

He's getting a registered letter from me from the council. If he ignores it it becomes his problem what I do there. This however is wasting another month, the fgkin philamon.

Any ideas how I can sort this pool of his out ? No I can't blow it up, but a recipe for turning the water into rubber or something similar would help...

Spray sump-oil on the surface, but not so you leave a trace of dribbles back to your fence side/yard:D:D:D

Throw some ?"tillapia"? in it, they will survive? and breed - good "fighting fish" but small and timid at taking a hook, bony but sort of tasty when grilled with lots of spices (chilli)...

Throw in a couple of your live toothy "tiger fish"? or a baby "nile crocodile"...

Might be expensive but would be an interesting experiment:

What size is the pool? Lets say 30kl so you would need about 60kg of the polymer. I was given a 1kg sample 23 years ago so it cannot be too expensive.

I played with this stuff years ago but could not find a use for it. I understand the most common use of similar polymers these days is in baby nappies to solidify the liquid waste.

Voda f com here took over our service provider. Now suddenly the price for the cap seems to have doubled for half the bandwidt. Every time I try to access a web site their f page pops up saying you must pay more :(

Vod f com, proudly screwing south africans since they are the monopoly. Their phone service is 6 times more expensive than what is fair. I pay R369 for only 2Gig.

Well, hopefully someone will see this and be in a position to do something. If you know someone from voda f com, please give them a kick in the whatsmecallit. This is outright extortion.

Only people like Fanie who run their own country down seem to be allowed to say something.

Typical example of someone who does not know what is going on in his own country.

Our phone services are amongst the most expensive in the world, our interest rates (banks and financial institutes) are rediculous, compare 16%+ here to 4% in other countries, our power will soon become very expensive, it has already doubled, we don't have municipal or public services, the crime rate is said to be the second highest in the world, the police service are virtually non existent, our hospitals are in septic conditions, our roads are full of pot holes, our dams are seriously poluted, we have gone from exporters to importers of maize and other foods because ot the > 3000 WHITE farmers murdered while none of the thousands of farms given to black farmers succeeded the last FIFTEEN years ! and the educational system is a disaster.

And that was just off the bat. Now if you're happy to live like a pig in **** that's your problem. Don't expect me to !

It is you ****** who does not speak up when something is wrong that runs this country down.
It is those that speak up that has a desire for things to be corrected.

Is it time to start ranting about what effects (good and bad) the impending World Cup might have?

Fanie
02-02-2010, 03:32 AM
What world cup :D

The expectancy has been created with a lot of these people that they are going to make a lot of money from the foreigners. In truth, as usual, only a few will make something out of this. I don't know what this lot is going to do when they realize it.

A spinoff from this is that they are frantically fixing our roads up so you won't get a bad impression. The train they wanted completed to transport the people to and from is not going to be finished.

The police are a bit more visible at times, they held two road blocks the last few months that I am aware of, they said it's to suppress the crime.

It's a great thing that you guys can come here and see what it's like, but a pity you won't see all of it or spend enough time to interact a bit.

Bring ear protection, or you're going to be deaf after the first match. The philamons have these hooters they blow, and all the time non stop, not just when a goal is scored. Forget the anti stab jackets I hear they are selling in the UK, it's not going to be like that.

What more do you want to hear ?

The following is an article that appeared in The Sunday Standard (Botswana) of 24.01.10.
Loose Canon contributes regularly to newspapers.

Haiti and the blacks
by Loose Canon

I hope black people will learn a lesson from the earthquake that hit Haiti.

If they don’t learn anything from it, then I throw up my hands in despair and give up.

Let’s start with a few basic facts. Until the earthquake, I never knew there was a place called Haiti. I was taught geography at school but I cannot remember a time when the mistress told us about Haiti. It must have been one of those insignificant countries that we had no reason to know about.

I was fairly good at geography because I knew which country was on which continent. I also knew many capital cities. But as for Haiti I was clueless.

Now the whole world, including myself, knows about Haiti. I heard news of the earthquake on the radio. I wondered where Haiti was and what sort of people lived there.

Finally, when I switched on the television, I was informed that Haiti is an island out in the Caribbean. Television pictures revealed a place populated by black people.

From the non-stop television coverage of the earthquake, I got to learn about the history of Haiti. It was not a good history lesson. It would seem throughout its existence Haiti has suffered a series of natural calamities. In the process it has sunk even deeper into poverty and deprivation.

Like all places populated by black people, Haiti is poor. As I watched the television images, I felt very sorry for that forsaken place.

Then I was hit by a thunderbolt.

I wondered what if there were no white people. You see, when the earthquake hit Haiti somebody had to come to its assistance. There had to be a rescue effort. The Haitians who survived of course did their fair bit by digging out their families from the collapsed ramshackle buildings.

But such was the scale of the devastation and the loss of human life that a bigger effort was needed. For that sort of work, you need heavy lifting gear and other sophisticated rescue equipment. I have been following the story of the earthquake keenly. I can attest to the fact that the first people to arrive with sniffer dogs were white crews from all over the world.

The aeroplanes that set off carrying water and food were from white countries. Not only that, the teams of volunteer doctors that I saw on television comprised white people from across the world. As the sniffer dogs went into action, the organized rescue teams that carried the stretchers were made up of white people.

It was announced that a mobile hospital was on the way. It was coming from a white country. For all intents and purposes in the aftermath of the earthquake, Haiti was literally swarming with white people. They had all arrived to save the poor blacks. And the locals were so happy to see them.

Granted there were teams from the Orient such as the Chinese and Japanese. They too had quickly left their homes and families to go and assist the stricken people of Haiti.

It is obvious to everyone that this was a devastating earthquake and the work to repair Haiti and return it to a modicum of normalcy will take many years. Somebody had to commit funds to this effort. Most of the countries that have committed funds to aid the recovery are white. In fact, it would seem the whites are running the show in Haiti.

What is my point?

My point is that ever since Haiti was hit by the earthquake I have not seen any of my folks from Africa.

Unless the television cameras deliberately ignored them, I never saw a rescue team from my motherland. Nor did I see any sniffer dogs from down here.

Heck, I never saw a single traditional doctor busy divining where to find people buried under the rubble.

Haiti is a land of black people. I would have expected the place to be swarming with black people helping their own. They were nowhere to be seen. I never saw any ships from black countries pulling into the harbour.

As the air traffic circled above the small airport, none of the planes was reported as coming from Africa. The blacks were nowhere to be found. They issued tepid statements of condolence to the people of Haiti and a few of the African countries donated small amounts of cash.

Granted that was better than nothing. But I must say I was disappointed. I was sad because the blacks did not behave as I had expected.

You see, for far too long black countries have been insolent to the point of being abusive. They have a tendency of insulting the white man and telling him to keep out of their countries.

In Fact, black people have the temerity to tell white people they can perfectly survive on their own.

So I had expected the black countries to be consistent and behave true to form. Why didn’t black countries tell white countries to stay away from Haiti because we were quite capable of leading the rescue effort? We should have insulted them as we often do at international forums.

There, our countries insult white countries and accuse them of imperialism and neo colonialism. I was extremely disappointed when our countries failed to accuse white people of practicing imperialism and neo colonialism by coming to rescue the blacks of Haiti.

We should have told them we have better sniffer dogs that have been taught only to rescue black people. We should have told their ships to stay away and their planes not to overfly Haiti because we were up to the job with our own ships and aeroplanes.

We should have brought in our traditional food instead of the strange rations the Haitians are not accustomed to.

I am so disappointed by the black leaders that I hope never to hear them again bleating about how bad white people are. The earthquake in Haiti was the most opportune time to show the whites, once and for all, that we don’t need them.

From now onwards, I want black leaders to shut up and never accuse ever again, white people of being bad. I am sick and tired of big words such as imperialism and neo colonialism which are unable to rescue victims of the earthquake.

I hope this is not the last earthquake that hits a black country. I want the next one to specifically hit the residence of The Evil Self-centred Old Man in Harare, Zimbabwe who does nothing for his people. Then we will see if he will abuse the white crew coming to rescue him and his wife Ghastly Grace

One bit of good news we received this week was that the name of the capital of South Africa, Pretoria, is not going to be changed to 'Tshwane' which means 'city of the apes' if translated directly which is actually quite suitable in more than one sense. There is going to be no further attempts to change it either and it was made final.

Pretoria remains Pretoria for ever.

One of the farmers however was so excited when he heard the news that he made the attached... and took it into town :D

Philamon and friend are so insecure that instead of building anything up and then name it to something relevant that they rename everything here to some philamon name in an attemp to have it look like whatever is here was their doing.

A bit like if Obama now announce they are going to rename Washington to some weird name, or the English is now going to rename Berlin to a more appropraite name  :D

Many city and town names, as well as street names are now being changed.
Rather pathetic but any way...

Hi Fanie I haven't been here for a while, so anyway came to look see.

I'm interested to hear background stories to the Foopball World Cup every so often.

Its a joke
a very sick joke

the stadiums are built - looking good - and the one in Durban is very impressive
smart roads, smart parking, all ok

BUT

our ruling regime has once again enriched themselves big time at the cost of the masses
Haiti is chicken **** in comparison to what is going on here
large scale flooding - thousands and thousands homeless
our electricity supply is falling apart
our water supply is a fu3kup - by 2013 it is in serious ****

so for 3 weeks we will pretend like we are having a ball
then wheels off
another million unemployed
capital projects are few

so - to the soccer fans
you think it will all be cool ??
50% of you that get pissed and fu3k the locals WILL go home with aids
they are so infected that a condom is of little use
if they spit on you, you will get ill
50% of you that get pissed and walk the streets at night WILL get mugged and robbed, possibilty with permanent body damage

its all very easy
the drugs are flowing in already, tik factories everywhere
our minister of security and safety's wife is in jail for running a drug cartel
the whores are coming from thailand and china, they are here, waiting for the flood gates to open

welcome to the world cup
its the joy ride that 50% of the fans will NEVER forget
everlasting impressions :D

Manie B
02-05-2010, 01:30 AM
One thing that we have to get very clear here

If I thought about my country the way you apparently do about yours

I dont have a country

Like the blacks in America (and Obama) that want to go back to visit their "roots" in mother Africa, to establish their heritage, and to "connect" with their forefathers - and grasp the energy of where it all began

I also want that for myself

I am white
my forefathers come from England - Holland and France
my surname comes from a combination of Booth Both Bota Botha and a variety of similar others that i cant spell
the surnames were amalgamated by Queen Victoria, way back when.
My roots are in Europe, my cultural heritage is European and Christian

So now we fast forward to 2010
cars - planes - trains and computers
AND black colonial countries that got their "freedom" from white oppression

The rot is spreading like a mega flood
Robert Mugabe has basically got all the whites out, the clever ones left Rhodesia - Zimbabwe 20 years ago
Julius Malema, our local Youth leader is groomed for higher office, he is constantly attacking the white male
Zuma our president. has just fathered his 20th (twenty) child - illegitimately
and our Minister of Safety and Security's wife is the kingpin of an international drug cartel

they dont want whites in Africa
period
at grass roots level they believe implicidly that we owe them big time
In the next TEN years South Africa WILL
take over farms
nationalise the mines
nationalise the banks
bad drinking water
unreliable electricity
sink the ship
and beg for assistance
and still the white owes them big time

I have been in business now for 30 years, (constuction and mining) we as the small white enterpeneur basicaly cannot tender on ANY capital projects unless we take in a black partner as a passenger. The big companies crossed that bridge some time ago and all have "ministers" in high office and positions, as partners and directors. They in turn give the work to us small fry, because there is no one left that is capable to do the actual work anymore.

So bottom line is
i also want to go back to my roots
my forefathers left Europe in search of a better life
now the wheel has turned for the worse

I personally have a good life here
they need me for my skills, and treat me with respect, no problem
My children have no future here at all, never ever.
I will rather have nothing over "there" - than have the nothing here

View Full Version : My Rant
