I bought two velvet drives 70c 71c. They came off from a cw motor and a ccw, but when I looked them up they are listed as both cw input and cw out put so how does that work, can I put one of them on a cw engine and get ccw out put? (cw clockwise/ccw counter clock wise) any input would be appreciated.

Velvet Drive Trans will work OK turning in either direction. The output shaft turns in the same direction as the Imput (motor). Only requirement is Oil pump rotation must be matched to motor rotation. This is accomplished by losening bolts on Front of Trans and rotating pump assembly to match motor rotation.

thank you for the response, and I understand about flipping the pump but I still might be missunderstading you, can I cw input and get ccw on the out put or is the input/output always the same direction.
or could I just run the one tranny in reveres and the other in forward, the gearing is the same either direction-right? sorry I'm pretty green txs Brent

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner - was away from my computer.

When in Forward gear, the output shaft will always turn in the same direction as input. An opposite rotation motor is required to get opposite output. You can damage the Trans by placing in Reverse to obtain Forward movement - not recommended. In addition, gearing is different between forward/reverse.

Thanks for your reply I kind of thougth that might be the answer but I wasn't sure because I read that the bravo 2 or 3 that you could just run one in reverse but I do realize that is a different set up. Thanks again for the help!
