Can anyone tell me what factors effect high and low windage on a catamaran?

Wind drag on the hull is the biggest factor!, I did not expect that, why are we cat sailors so keen to fly a hull, I guess on beach cats there is a lot less hull in the air as we non't need accomodation in the hulls. So this may not be the case on smaller cats.

Be aware this is for a 50ft Cat and you may get a different answer if you are considering a beachcat.
