Hi,
What we're looking for is a fast boat that can carry injured persons safe. The Island we're on (Cozumel, Mex.) is located 22 miles aprox. from main land. The sea is very calm most of the year, but the boat must be able to cruise even on rough sea.
We're thinking about a boat with a minimun of 32" LOA, 8" Beam, draft 3.5" and 22 Knots.
This boat will not be doing rescue services, as it will be for trasportation from Cozumel Island to main land only.
Any further information contact:

You may wish to contact the US State department and see if you can obtain a surplus US military craft under foreign military sales. This may be a very cost effective approach.
There are any number of US builders of aluminum boats that would meet this description, or if you want to build one, Specialty Marine can provide plans and NC cutting files.
If you need a custom design and are not in a hurry for it, I occasionally do such work free for humanitarian, emergency, volunteer or other services when it would not constitute unfair competition with other designers.
Hi, I know Bruno Abbate made one for the Italian Red Cross (picture attached),their web page is www.brunoabbate.it
Good luck!

I don't know if this helps, but I heard the USCG was decomissioning the 44 ft motor lifeboats. These type of lifeboats are probably one of the best design of their kind.
Back in the 1980's the portuguese bought the design and built about 6 of them. Just now a program was undertaken to replace their propulsion system and it is expected they will be arround for 10 years more.
These boats are used in the Azores for that purpose as well as for rescue missions, however this is at open ocean.
Any way, is there anyone who knows what stability standards should be applyed to motor lifeboats ??
