How does this Atlantic Skiff (http://www.boatdesigns.com/products.asp?dept=719)differ from a traditional sportfishing center console? Can anyone explain the difference in hull design etc, thanks?

Most center console fishing boats of this type seen on the Atlantic Coast are outboard powered. The bottom of Hankinson's boat is of the usual warped V design with high deadrise forward for running in waves and high chop. The topsides are typical for fiberglass boats from commercial manufacturers. Most wood boats of this type will have more flare and a broken sheer similar to the North Carolina offshore fishermen. The Atlantic Skiff appears to have robust scantlings able to handle offshore conditions. Here is a link to some offshore fishing boats in this area that are closer to the classic boats of this coast.
