Hi Jonesy, welcome aboard :)

It certainly looks like you have your work cut out for you. Once you've been bitten by the wooden-boat bug, there's no going back- no amount of logic, fiscal responsibility or other practical concerns can pull you away.

Keep the restoration photos coming, and do feel free to ask any questions you feel are necessary :)

Hello All
going to put front in boat soon just wondering if we are alright to use stainless steel screws or should we use Bronze Scillica screws?

Use the same type that came out of it. In other words, if it had bronze, then you have to continue using bronze.

Hi Jonesy, and also make sure you are using the right wood for the stem, and the right everything else! I got the feeling yoiu might be winging it when you called it a "front piece". Not that I'd know what kind of wood you'd find down under... kauri?

Jonesy;

The correct name for that is the "pointie part"!
:P :P :P

Sorry!

Some times you just can't help your self.
