offshore center console

looking for a 28-32' center console withat least 10'6" beam. I looked a the carolina angler from Ken Hankinson plans look good but I have not heard of any one who has built this particular boat. Does anyone sell a kit or plans for a boat this size and carolina style?

donI do not understand you your reply. Offshore Center consoles are not uncoomon at all to see 75 miles of the coast in the northeast canyons. carolina hulls are some of the best hulls in rough seas. Is the Ken Hankinson design that bad or are you speaking of the carilona hull design?? Greg

Sounds like you should take a look at these:

Carolina Sportfish CS25 ...just type it into any search engine.
Northrip 27... www.northrip.net

The first is a kit boat....comes in pre-cut ply kit and epoxy kit. Only trouble is that it's an outboard. (just not my personal preference)

The second is an all custom boat that's gonna run you about $120K. wicked boat...nice lines!

The third is probably your best bet. They've got some sort of virtual building process that gets you involved on the specs...so you can pick your own size and width...ect. (the 23' is about $110K.)

I really think that 10'6" is a bit too short of a beam for a 28' CC. Go for a minimum of 12'. This may cause a sacrafice of speed, but stability ought to increase.

It would seem that most 28'cc Carolina style boats have about 9 6" of beam at the front (to accomodate the flare and around 8'6" at the transom),this seems to work well.

John Kirschner in Essex (near Baltimore) MD built one like that in welded aluminum recently by modsifying a military design. He CNC'd the plates and may be willing to sell you the cut files as well.
