Small trimarans for the amateur builder.

I'm interested in building a list of small trailerable tris that plans are available for and that suit the amateur builder. Folding is a must, around the 26' mark (24 to 28?) is probably ideal, economical build is always good, good looking (you have to love your boat!) is nice, good interior space but not a dog for it, good pace.... again no dogs. I'm more interested in cataloguing a list here than arguing each individual boats merits, links to tests, designers, pictures etc both for myself any anyone who is like minded to explore.

So what do you like?

The Small Tri book sold there is a great read IMO, although most of the boats are a bit smaller than 26'.

There is only one Trinado. A chapter about it in the afore-mentioned book.

Yeah, thks, I tripped over that site before looking for your beast. Scant mention of your little machine, I was hoping to find more about that one but she looks to be a rare breed. Its got me wondering how many more there are like her that I have never seen before.

TRITIUM is designed as a fast, exciting little trimaran, equally suitable for multihull "speed freaks" and for family outings and coastal cruising. Tritium is designed for amateur construction. The hulls are in lightweight sandwich of PVC foam core and GRP skins. Throughout the construction process, attention is given to simplicity - high-tech building techniques are avoided. A limited amount of Carbon fibre is employed only in the cross-beams, where its higher strength make it even economical. The boat is not foldable to preserve simplicity of construction, but can be disassembled for wintering or transport.

The F-82 has now superseded the original F-25A trailerable yacht for home builders, and comes in two versions:

F-82A a lower powered version for cruisers and can be built with either wood or foam strip planking

F-82R - a higher powered version for racers, and the direct equivalent to the F-25C - one of the fastest multihulls of its size in the world. The F-82R must be built in foam, for the lightest possible weight.

Both design versions offer excellent all round performance for those who want a fast cruising multihull with a cruiser friendly roomy interior.

The F-82's cockpit will seat six, and is large enough for outdoor sleeping on summer nights. Further aft is a large swim step platform area which allows easy on and off access.

Excellent resale!

Having been along the same lines for many a dreaming year you will nearly all ways end back at the Farrier site,so many reasons to not build a F boat that far outway the disadvantages.

Tritum dose look cool and Eric Larouges Pulsar range http://www.lerouge-yachts.com/tri_8.htm are pretty tasty.

There was also a new boat the Grainger ST7 but it needs about 1 metre more in length of cabin space to be an over nighter as well.:)
