That boat is beautiful!
But that sail... Why not a nice gaff rig? That would be a nice unnecessary complication.
But I like it anyways, great job!

That is a $30 sail made from Chicken house curtain material.

I may add a gunter later and an improved sail. Right now
I just want it in the water.

The boat is a hundred pounds under design weight, so this
may be enough rig for it.

Maiden Voyage of Unnecessary Complications!

Almost no wind. Every thing went perfect. No "Complications"!

Rig went up and down like a dream.

Sailed for nearly three hours and maybe went a mile??

Had a little company as well. The boys had just got the cat and
had some trouble getting it rigged, helped them get going.

"Scenery" was very nice.

No video. Maybe when there is some wind.

Did you notice that the boat shrank markedly when you put it in the water ?

They are soooo much bigger when you are building them :-)

I guess, after thirty or so small boats, you get used to the size thing
and don't notice it any more.

It is really roomier than I thought it would be. The all around seats and
under seat storage worked out nicely.
