Hey guys,

If you can with out a lot of specs try to answer

I am making a pilothouse for a 27 foot sportfisher aprox dimensions 12ft long x 8 feet wide.

Construction consists of 3/4 in foam panels on a male mould
outside laminate which is complete is 1.5oz matt / 17oz cloth or 1708 Nytex in some spots / 1.5 oz matt

I am afraid that it is getting too heavy, is it ok to go lighter on the inside or is it generally better to have a ballanced laminate

Thanks

To answer that would require to study the design and recalculate the laminate. I don't think you can go much lighter than 1708 on that size though

It's always desirable to have a balanced laminate, unless a composite engineer can give you a good reason not to.
