Can anyone give an advice for to install a small gen-set in an aluminun 36 ft.
Pilot-boat, which is powered with 2 Detroit-Diesel engines 175 KW each and there is no other power source available except for the batteries.
The intention to install the gen-set it's to supply energy for a 3/4 ton Air Cond. unit in the boat's cabin, average weather temps. are above 85 F. and in summer time it goes to 120 F.
Thank You in advance for any suggestion can anyone supply.

Google Subaru/Robin. They make a smaller diesel unit you could build in if vented correctly. Do not know the price but this brand makes quality engines.

If you wish to do without the gen set and still have air cond its EZ , but not cheap.

A big bus usually has a 250-300A /24V alternator , and with a 4000W Trace inverter , you could run a pair of air cond , only while underway.

Far less maint than an extra diesel noisemaker ,
