Hi to all of you...
I have been asked to install a pair of second user Yam 200 HPDI engines. However, the removal from the previous boat has been done somewhat carelessly incluing cutting the wiring harnesses. It was a police boat having new engines so the installer probably was not interested in helping the purchaser of the old ones! Hence we have no key switches etc.
Anyway, the question is... Does anyone know the polarity of the white wire from the ignition switch to the Engine Management Module. The Yam circuit diagrams are not very clear on this, but "kind of" suggest that the white wire is 12volt NEGATIVE. However, in our experience with fitting Evinrude and Suzuki outboards to our boats - see www.explorermarine.co.uk - the keyswitch does not have a negative feed and thus could not provide a negative switched ignition.
Does anyone out there own a Yamaha HPDI? Does it have a black wire to the ignition switch?
If it only has red and brown and white then they are all positive?
Thanks
HM
