hi i have a picton 21 with a bmw mk2 sterne drive, i wish to fit a landrover discovery diesel engine, it had a bmw b190 ,can anybody give advise please.

About 110 to 120 (different versions) at 4000 ...4250

Sounds like you need one of those Cuban shade-tree mechanics who can mate a 1970s Soviet tractor diesel with a 1950s Studebaker, and keep the offspring running perfectly for another 30 years.

Apart from the necessary marinization mods to the LR Disco motor, I don't see any reason why the replacement would be impossible. But that doesn't mean it'll be easy, or that the result will work out- you may end up having to fabricate a lot of custom brackets, mounts, adaptors, etc.

Why the need for the engine change?

If you choose a good engine to convert your problems will be solvable.
