Hello everyone

I am a naval engineering exchange student at UCL and I am doing a project on race yacht design and I want to get as much input from everywhere as I can.

The things that I would like to know more about are these

- as it is seems to be from recent AC and VOR campaigns that square top sails , asymmetrical spinnakers and Mast Head Code Zero sails are the future. Are these technologies applicable for IRC, if it is why isn't noone using it (especially code zero(for off shore racing) and square top sails)

- what are the recommended rudder, keel profiles

- Even though the IRC formula is still not know for sure , how do designers get around it

-why do TP52 box rule racers are perfect IRC racers and why Class40's suffer from extreme ratings?

- As the softwares that I use do not allow me to design and evaluate asymmetrical sails, how can I design symmetrical spinnakers and convert them to asymmetrical sails that will be used with a bowsprit

be sure that all your input will be addressed as a reference
I just want to get as much input as possible, if there are any other issues that you would like to address that I forgot I will be very grateful

Thank You
