...Realistically, I'd guess that Steel is still in pretty high usage for anything that goes deeper than 20-30 feet. It's pretty strong, and the fact that it sinks doesn't hurt much for it's being selected.

Huh? Hmmmm. Not in the water but under it? I don't know. Sounds like a trick question. I give up. Does it have gills? Is it a living thing or a famous person? Something you use every day?
