Hello

I am about to design a 150.000 m3 LNG Carrier. I don’t know if I want to go with a twin skeg or a single - don't know the advantages of each design.

I was thinking of starting with preliminary drawing, because the size of LNG tanks is important and then build the rest of the ship around that.

Du you guys know any good programs for designing ship or/and a good program to make drawings e.g. GA-plan etc.?

Yours sincerely

Mathias

I think you should first do some reading about the basic criteria for the designing of that kind of vessels. In Spain we have a book named "The basic design of the merchant ship", that includes criteria for LNG carriers, and most probably there's something like that in english (or even in danish!). Maybe some of the english speaking NAs in these forums can provide references.

About NA and drawing programs you have a wealth of them. Just search the "Software" section of these forums.

Cheers.
