Hi! I am having a machine which I purchased two years back and now it has lost its dazzling appearance. How can I regain the original appearance of my machine?

Can you be more specific than "machine"?

Soak it in Coca-Cola, let it sit for 3 days. . . Do I sense a sales pitch coming up?

He will not sell the stuff if he follows MY advice:

Try autosol, put it on with a toothbrush, rub vigourlessly then wipe it off with a clean cloth. Makes my motorcycle engine look new after 30 years!

I got back the dazzling appearance of my machines by asking advice from a sewing machine forum. Boat forums were lousy---- they didn't understand how depressing it can be to see the dazzle wear off, leaving drab colors and rust, and they just kidded me and made jokes.
Especially my digger grabbers and soil holding box transporters are missing of the dazzle.
All I can say is, if you do get your dazzle back, hang on to it for all it's worth.
And stay away from razzle dazzle, which is pretty much overrated.

Use this 303 Protectant for Leather, Vinyl, Fabric, and Fiberglass
http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/parts/rv-awnings/303-protectant.htm
http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/parts/rv-cleaners/303_protectant.jpg
Tested, used and recommended by major boat builders. An intense beautifier and the ultimate protection for inflatables. Use on fiberglass, vinyl, rubber, plexiglass, plastics and sailcloth.
I used it on my black painted targa bar on my old Porsche (matt black not SS) and it works on that too. Great on the vinyl top, plus I use it on all the plastic and surrounds (accordion bumpers) before waxing so the wax does not stick to it.
Do not use Armor-All, it breaks down plastic. They found airplane windshields coming off at 200 mph because of it.

I do´nt assume his Caterpillar will come very close to 200 mph after the treatment with Cola, Autosol and some other stuff already recommended on his other threads.
So Armor - All is what I vote second after Coke!:D
Bear in mind............ he wanted it CHEAP........:P

If you keep some 303 in the bedroom for those "special times"... almost as good as a set of epoxy pumps on the nightstand!

Ahh.......that was Knotty´s apprehension... so:
Knotty I can assure you by personal experience even at 60 there is some dazzle left. Although 303 is´nt any longer achievable, it´s closer to displacement ratio of about 1,34 SL!.;)
But guys we are raining on mariyadisuja´s parade, he has a Problem and we are kidding.;)

Sorry mariyadisuja. I didn't mean to hijack your thread but couldn't pass up the opportunity! ;-) Anyhow, when it comes to keeping machines polished up I always get the wife involved. It's her primary task onboard to keep everything fuled, lubed, wetted down, fed and polished!
I have a 1987 Chev Camaro IROC 5.7lt. The ole' girl ain't allowed to touch that. I look after keepin' it dazzlin'!
Thanks for the b'day well wishes fella's! Next year (the big Five Oh) we'll throw a party!

Gawdelpus
Do´nt make a "bottleparty"
Venom will bring Coke
Kachi brings 303
RHP comes along with autosol
pkokens Epoxy pump will not serve to save the party
Why did nobody recommend some Beer?:?:
Ohh now was this hijacking the precious thread?

Pirate Apex1 volunteered to bring the beer and rum and wine..... Manie and I will bring the "scantily clad female crew" to serve the booze and entertain all with "eye candy".... I am sure Fanie and the other "saffas" will bring the "long pig", deer and fish for the BBQ.....

Buff, Buff Buff your guts out. The 3M "Perfect-it" line is hard to beat. And remember that orbitals are for sissies; a rotary is a real man's machine. After that you can apply the wax/protectant of your choice, like the 303 line mentioned above. But protectants won't bring much dazzle back; for that you must buff.

364 days to plan the logistics of it all! :P
By that time I should have the hull glassed and started on the bulkheads etc. Bring you're best sanding and polishing machines and we'll have a good ole' time. Back bacon sandwiches and Molsons are on me! :)
I have a 1964 Mercedes 220Sb, the only way to keep these things bright and mechanically sound is regular maintenance, $ and blood, sweat and tears.
Congrats Knotty on hitting 49, you're streaking ahead of me, I'm a mere youngster of 45.

What happens when senility and the 20th second childhood hits and the beatles song rings out loud this coming May? "...when I'm 64..." - no need for ****** yet, so action man is allowed 'leniencies'?

MAS
lettuce focus either on the very severe prob of the missing dazzle or on the even more sober how and where you´ll swill my beer next year!
And the latter should be solved as conscientious as we overcame the first one!:p
My senility, indolence, incontinence and clumsyness will be forgiven (at least forgotten) when soaked in rum and wine!:P
and mariyadisuja forgive us if we sometimes slightly drift away from your horrendous sorrows.:P

Tried that 49 once, very over rated! Now to mary dears problem, in the short term if they are that bad the simple answer is NO!
