Greetings. I'm trying to locate more owners of the Viksund series of sailboats here in the U.S. Bjarne Eikevik of Ft. Lauderdale Florida imported a number of these as well as the 27 Columbi between 1972-1980. A website has been created for owners www.viksund-ms.com which is still pretty rough but there is a forum as well. It's not my intention to pull forum members away but Earling Viksund may be heading to Nova Scotia to sail Magnus down to the Caribbean. If would be fantastic to get other owners together and take part in the passage. I look forward to finding more Viksunds out there!

If you want so, I'll post something at my Motorsailers & Motorsailing web pages to help you spread the word. Perhaps copying there your own first post in this thread? Or then send me a message with the text you want me to post and I'll be glad to help.
All the best.

There was someone from Viksund, but I lost the e-mail address.
There are some other threads about Viksunds:

http://www.boatdesign.net/forums/sailboats/anyone-there-viksund-27-motorsailer-10619.html
I'll post your first post in this thread in my site, but I think you should display your name and e-mail address, otherwise the people cannot contact you (No contact info at your web page).
Cheers

My Grandfather had one back in the 80's named SeaTurtle that he an my grandmother took up to Newport in the summers and the Bahamas in the winters for years. After he sold the boat I saw it again for a number of years at a dock on the intracoastal between Lake Worth and Jupiter. I Haven't seen it for a while, but have great memories of her out cruising.

Sri Lanka, well why not I suppose, though I can't imagine trying to sell new boats in this economy. Must be aiming at the asian market...

That's exactly what he is doing, Asia is the new market, if we like it or not.
