I/O transom height [Archive] - Boat Design Forums

I own a 1978 steury house boat. The transom appears sold with no cracks.However, the top half of transom sounds hollow when knocked on where as the lower half sounds solid.Can anyone tell me weather I/O transoms extend all the way to the top. I would greatly appreciate any information.
