Anyone have some general info on how much power is required to power all the usual gizmos that people have aboard yachts these days?

I'm trying to work out how mny batteries are required to ensure that a racing yacht can survive for 5 days without running the engine.

The reason I am trying to work this out is that I want to use an electric engine.....

(related to this is i am trying to work out what weight savings can be made compared to diesel engine and fuel)

In addition..... if not possible then I'd like to see if adding an emergency generator is still lighter...

thanks

How long is a peice of string, (I always thought that a silly thing to say) any way what are you running, pilot , GPS what else?

5 days is a long time, solar panels is your answer.
