hi guys finally decided this is the year i will build a sailing cat so have a few questions

my options are to build a 30' col clifford compucraft cruising cat using alloy frames and clamps and polycore for hulls and everything else where practical.
my brief is that the yacht is solid and stable has twin outboards is easy to sail good for short term liveaboard and good simple electronics. has anyone built this type of yacht? also does anyone know of a shed or land where i could build this in noosa qld aus.

no.2 option is to buy someone else's unfinished project does not have to be exactly as above but of quality workmanship.

no.3 option is to buy hulls only and finish rest myself.

thanks to all who take the time to reply

I saw this on ebay the other day. I know nothing about it except that it may fit with one of your options :)

Having completed hulls would certainly speed up the process...

Buy used and bargain hard, an old mate recently bought an 800K boat for 350K. This year you will get better buying opportunities, better than anything you will do building.... there will be more and more fire sales.

That will be no cheaper to build than a good, more popular design

Why not look at something like an easy in polycore or even a oram?

Prefer Simpsons myself, but he's not providing support anymore
