Ok, my parents have been asking me questions about this. They just purchased a resort and are debating whether or not they should sign up with sponsored links.

I personally do not look at them, but that doesn't mean the general public doesn't.

On this net )boatdesign), I have looked at the sponsors and followed some of the links in areas of potential interest.

As a means of increasing exposure advertising via search engines is useful and I use those advertisers who may be relevant and whose website links directly to the search subject or has a good search facility to find ones interest....

Think carefully of the market being targeted then get advice from several different sources asking open questions to find out if they access the same market sector you are targeting or do they have alternate ideas that you feel could work - take a test run - no action end after 3 month free trial???....

Do a S.W.A.T. analysis and should you change your target market in the light of the current market collapse / uncertainty - have a look at Turtle Island, How are they doing in the up-market area? - have a look at "backpacker - explorer" type market... What is working and what is growing - can you tap into that movement? - Can you cater for specialist groups like Japanese newly weds, Yachties, Cruising clubs (bar trade?) ?

Thank you masalai!

Very good points and i have read aloud to the parents. We are debating if we should still follow through, i understand what you say by directly related to the search subject. Normally whenever i am searching for something i do not click on them because its through companies like nextag.com or some wholesale company that is just looking to bump up numbers.

Thank you!

Have you done any market analysis in the recent months, I may be able to find some stuff to PM you in assessing the market opportunities as Fiji is not in a good position at the present time... Have a look at postings in "Global economics & politics...", "Crude..." and posts by RHP, Meanz Beanz and a few others who know their stuff (economics wise as foreign holidays are DISCRETIONARY spend items and usually suffer in tight economic times unless careful marketing targets a spend capable market segment..

My posts are tainted with rabid boredom, but I read and research a lot and am learning quickly.... My field has been tropical agriculture and Community development in Melanesia as well as a bit of marketing... Good luck...

Anybody who says they don't is probably lying, anybody who says they do all the time is probably brain dead. the truth is probably somewhere in between - if the sposor can catch the eye of the punter he'll go look, even if he isn't really looking for that subject at the time! If the initial page doesn't attract the chances are he'll move on - unless he's really looking for what your advertizing at the time or has a word of mouth reccomend.....in which case an empty box would work just as well, he's looking for you and will find you if you don't make it to hard!
