hi every one, can anyone tell me what the implications are of having a cavitation plate one and a half inches higher than the transom. Its a 290 duoprop on a 27' Fletcher Zingaro.

When I was building the Princess 266 Riviera I used to fit the 290s higher than usual ( can't remember the exact measurement) but the cavitation plate was around an inch higher. The overall speed was around 6 knots higher than a competitors boat given that it was the same Olesinski hull and weighed out the same with the same Volvo aq205s fitment.
