banks power kit

i just put a banks power kit into my ford f350 6.0 litre turbo diesel. good description of the system at http://www.bankspower.com/ and i'm highly satisfied with the result.

does anyone know of comparable retrofit for diesl engines in boats? have not talked with banks about this yet but i don't see anything on the site for boats per se.

The only difference should be the headers witch nead to be water cooled.
This would reduce the amount of power the turbo could extract from the exhaust gas.

In a truck or RV the ability to use gross amounts of power is limited to the sixe of the hill, and the vehicle load.

On a vessel the ability to accept high HP is constant , and the service life of the engine may be hugely shortened.

Think of an engine as a defuller , take 5gph (100hp)from a large tank and it will take a long time to run thru 10,000G.

Take 50 gph and the engine is scrap in less than 1/10 the time , if its strong enough to survive at 50gph..

turned the banks up to level six last night to see what she'd do under stress. gunned it straight up a very steep hill. about half-way up the turbo decompressed rapidly. thought it blew the thermostat out the manifold, i tapped it only 3-1/2 turns which i thought might be light but turns out it throug the air intake right off the turbo. that's a lot of pressure. tightened her down this morning and all appears well again, and in context with your comments i don't know what i was thinking with that kind of power on a screw. burning fuel making bubbles. jet maybe, who knows, but excellent point. thanks again.
