Johanson?

Strolling through a small village, I saw a derelict small speedboat standing in a garden. The outboard engine was 15-25 hp size, dirty white and carried the name Johanson on the cover in faint red.
Has there ever been a manufacturer with that name, did Johnson start as Johanson, or is it just a prank?
