After the holiday (2005), took all the chrome off, by taking the chrome off we saw the number 444 in all the chrome,
so it isnt number 401 but 444.

After that, we turn the boat to prepare the bottomside. Take all the paint off with sandpaper and pickling. And make the pickling work better with putting plastic on it so it can't "breathe".

Enjoyed my boat just one week before...............water did came in... The boat had to come out of the water to check it and to repare.
Took the metal strips off to see the damage.
The left front outside panel opened almost 2mm at the front.
http://www.mijnalbum.nl/MiniFoto-NIRJESEF-1.jpg http://www.mijnalbum.nl/Foto-3HJRBEAN-1.jpg http://www.mijnalbum.nl/MiniFoto-P6JH4C4P-1.jpg http://www.mijnalbum.nl/MiniFoto-Q8XSSANH-1.jpg http://www.mijnalbum.nl/MiniFoto-METCTXWD-1.jpg http://www.mijnalbum.nl/MiniFoto-HOHLHQEF-1.jpg
Repared it with three layers of epoxy "carpets" and put the strips back on and put the boat back in the water.
And if that wasnt enough, the engine wouldnt start anymore..... so, the boat again out of the water and brought it to the nearest Mercury dealer in Manerba near Salo.
http://www.mijnalbum.nl/MiniFoto-ABXK6NOA.jpg http://www.mijnalbum.nl/MiniFoto-YMSTNNDW.jpg http://www.mijnalbum.nl/MiniFoto-MXNF4DTI-1.jpg And no.... I'm not pleased at all.!!! Can you see??
Hanszz
09-17-2008, 03:49 PM
The boat was checked by Zanka in Manerba and what seems the problem, the magnetoshaft had so many userdamage that the "points" couldnt be set on time anymore. :(
So, no water anymore for the next two weeks I would be in Italy. I settled the boat next to my tent and I had to explain many times to people on the campingsite why my boat was next to the tent and not in the water.......
http://www.mijnalbum.nl/MiniFoto-I8YUNQ4V-1.jpg http://www.mijnalbum.nl/Foto-AVLKO3PN.jpg http://www.mijnalbum.nl/MiniFoto-HQ87ZGRH-1.jpg http://www.mijnalbum.nl/MiniFoto-UHQNHXUX-1.jpg http://www.mijnalbum.nl/MiniFoto-QMSZYDCS.jpg
Back home I started my search for a "new" magnetoshaft. After a short but good search on the internet and via some forums I found a used but very good magnetoshaft in the USA at MercGuy.com http://www.mercguy.com/motors_for_sale.htm
Left the old one, you can see the userdamage and right the "new" one, really almost as new.

Thanks Butch, I see that as a compliment.
But, for so far my boat. The shaft isnt placed back yet but thats ok, the weather isnt that good to put him in the water so one of these weeks a friend of mine will help me with putting it all back together again and make it work........ and for the testing in spring next year..... before it goes with me to Italy again.
